The saddest thing is that everyday people are often either unable (due to work strain) or forget (because of too many chores) to leave a review. What that leads to is a void, filled either by social media influencers or professional reviewers. The former rarely care about anything else but their click count and views, and the latter about the shock value of their publication. This leaves the newly published indies in between the hammer and the anvil.

I had a special reviewer drop something on my 1st book I ever published. Though my writing is not perfect and I never claimed it was, this person delivered one rather... negative post. I am forever grateful since half my early readers were intrigued by that review and bought my intro book only because of it. I think I gained over 200 readers or so, only thanks to that raging negativity. However, this is but a singular case and I am not pretending that a swath of negative reviews are good for ya.

That is a great point! I know for me sometimes it is a negative review that convinces me to buy something or intrigues me to buy like that negative review you got. It's kind of like the wild west in review land. You just never know what may help or hinder. I wish you nothing but great reviews from now on though! LOL!
